Share Email Opening Title Financial Analyst III  Description The Columbia Group (TCG), a technical services support company, which has a successful 50+ year history of providing the United States Military with cyber technology, information technology, financial management, acquisition, logistics management, engineering, design, fabrication, test and evaluation, and support services, in support of our corporate operations The Columbia Group, Inc., is seeking a Financial Analyst to support our government customer in multiple locations in Northern Virginia. Determines cost of operations by establishing standard costs; collecting operational data. Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts. Guides cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions. Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management. Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data. Maintains database by entering, verifying, and backing up data. Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; studying proposed changes in methods and materials.   Position Requirements Required Education, Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s degree, accounting or business related preferred (additional 4 years’ experience in lieu of degree) Strong understanding and experience in implementing Government accounting principles to include allowability and allocabillity of cost. Experience in the implementation of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS). Experience with using a Chart of Accounts / General Ledger consistent with CAS. Experience in reviewing contract expenses to determine allowability and allocability. Experience in cost accounting for various types of U.S. Government contracts to include cost reimbursement, time and materials, and fixed price. Experience with accounting set-up and invoicing for Government contracts to include task orders, Contract Line Items (CLINs), and the use of Accounting Classification Reference Numbers (ACRNs).
