Computer System Administrator

Description

The Computer Systems Administrator supports tasks 2, 3, 4, and 6.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
  • Ensures data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
  • Supports media management through internal methods and procedures or through offsite storage and retrieval services.
  • Conducts routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.

Experience:

  • Five (5) years' experience as a Systems Administrator with Window, Oracle, or business intelligence software. Experience with technologies such as Oracle 10/11, Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2014, MS Access, SQL, Visual Basic, Oracle*SQL, Cognos SDK, Windows 7 Pro, DOS, UNIX, Windows Server 2008.
  • Must have previous experience in the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and infrastructure. Monitored and tuned the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
  • Experience with Defense Transportation Systems such as Global Transportation Network (GTN), Global Decision Support System (GDSS), Air History System (AHS), Global Air Transportation System Execution System (GATES) or similar commercial systems is highly desired.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology-related field
  • OR equivalent experience and certifications.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • IAT Level II/Comp TIA Security+
  • IBM Cognos (highly desired)

Other Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with customer and fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed in the contract.

Security Clearance: Secret security clearance.

US Citizenship: This position supports a U.S. Government Contract whose terms require Sawdey Solution Services to staff it only with U.S. Citizens.
