Team Leader - Dual Disorders 


What are we looking for in a Team Leader?

This Team Leader position is part of our outpatient substance use disorders treatment team in Klickitat County, which serves clients in both our Goldendale and White Salmon clinics. In addition to supervisory duties, the Team Leader will also provide crisis outreach services for the county and clinical services to clients on the SUD team. Using evidence-based therapies, motivational interviewing, and case management, the Team Leader provides robust treatment that incorporates recovery principles from both mental health and substance use disorder disciplines. Through individual and group sessions, the Team Leader will provide counseling, skill development, and support to assist each client with reaching their recovery goals. For the crisis outreach portion of the role, the Team Leader will also participate in rotating on-call shifts during the workday, evenings, and weekends to provide crisis services. This involves taking calls requesting crisis services and traveling out in the community to complete crisis evaluations, determine what level of treatment is needed to stabilize the situation, and make arrangements for hospital placements or outpatient treatment as appropriate. The Team Leader is also responsible for overseeing staff on the SUD team; providing clinical supervision; and monitoring team productivity, clinical documentation, clients’ treatment progress, and access to care within the program.

This role requires an experienced, confident clinician with a background in both mental health and substance use treatment. Excellent communication skills, the ability to establish rapport quickly, and a collaborative attitude are essential in this role. Previous supervisory experience may also be helpful. As noted, this position provides outpatient services in both Goldendale and White Salmon, as well as crisis services for all of Klickitat County, so regular travel should be expected.

Team Leader duties may include:

  • providing clinical supervision and general oversight to team members
  • gathering & tracking program data, implementing policies & procedures, and preparing for survey & license reviews or audits
  • providing individual & family therapy and facilitating behavioral health groups
  • collaborating with each client to create an individualized treatment plan
  • receiving calls for crisis services from individuals, law enforcement, medical facilities, & service providers and responding in the community to assess individuals for safety and gather information
  • completing all documentation in a respectful, client-centered manner
  • determining the least restrictive environment for crisis resolution and stabilization for the client, arranging placements for voluntary & involuntary hospitalization or detox services when necessary

Position Requirements

Education & Experience: Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field.

Professional Credentials: Independent licensure (LMFT, LICSW, or LMHC) within six months from date of hire. Eligible for Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) certification in Washington State
