Job Summary

The Human Resources Intern will primarily support seasonal recruitment efforts including but not limited to; candidate outreach, scheduling interviews, ensuring flow of information through use of applicant tracking system and assisting HR Specialist and Director, Human Resources with onboarding activities for seasonal hires. This position will also gain exposure to Human Resources systems and processes in support of the Pittsburgh Pirates Human Resources team. The Human Resources Intern will learn various Human Resources support functions through a hands on internship experience.


  • Assist with seasonal recruitment needs including phone calls, candidate follow up and onboarding support.
  • Maintain all personnel files in both paper and electronic formats. Scan and upload employee file documents on a weekly basis.
  • Assist staff with employee Self-Service questions and support issues.
  • Provide administrative support, including but not limited to: mail distribution, employment verifications, benefits mailings and audits, special projects, business card orders and other support functions as needed.
  • All other duties assigned by Director, Human Resources.
Position Requirements
  • Must be a junior, senior or graduate level
  • Human Resources or related major
