This is a seasonal 3 month position starting Febuary 25th.The schedule will be Tuesday-Friday, requiring 15-20 hours of work a week. This position will be primarily daytime hours, with some occational weekend and evening work. Delivery of facilitated experiences and programs for visitors, including: Paid programs for children, families, adults and groups (camps, school programs, family events, etc.) Informal, on-the-floor programs for visitors Off-site programs Special programs as they arise Management of program materials Work on cross-departmental teams as needed Support general Museum activities Some evening and weekend work required Other duties as needed   Position Requirements Requirments: High School Diploma Passion for informal education, particularly related to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), computational thinking, and/or design thinking Experience implementing hands-on, informal programs to children, families and/or adults Willingness to work with and handle invertebrate animals Ability to engage with children and adults in a friendly, outgoing and professional manner Ability to work independently and within a team Strong organizational skills Creativity, dependability, flexibility and enthusiasm Must be able to travel distances of up to one mile over varying terrains and lift up to 25lbs Desired: College or technical education in a related subject Experience working in a museum or other informal educational setting Fluency in language other than English (with particular interest in Spanish) Experience using technology to augment and enhance curriculum Valid driver’s license   Shift Days   Pay Range   EOE Statement The Museum of Life and Science is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment regardless of race, color, religion, creed, age, national origin or ancestry, ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, military or veteran status, or any other category protected by federal, state, or local law.
