The Airfield Lighting, Lightning, and Grounding Systems/Electrical Engineering SME Technical Support Provide engineering support for Air Force electrical and electrical controls requirements/projects. This includes providing professional reviews, assessments, and offering expert recommendations and proposed responses to the SME.

Additional Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited To:

  • Provide technical assistance and recommendations during the development, update and/or revisions of technical criteria documents.
  • Provide Electrical Support.
    • This electrical support shall involve a wide variety of electrical assets/activities, to include Air Force airfield lighting systems, lightning protection systems, and grounding systems, planning, programming, design, evaluation, management and construction issue recommendations.
  • Assist with fielding questions that come from the bases/installations. This may involve research analysis, calculations, and reports related to airfield lighting, lightning protection, and grounding systems.
  • Assist with development, review of training plans and courses.
  • Perform site visits to assist the bases with technical issues.
  • Assist in documenting program files, organizing files and providing administrative support, such as updating and maintaining technical support resources such as CE DASH requests.
  • Provide engineer support for 25-40 AF electrical and electrical controls requirements annually.
  • Provide technical assistance and recommendations during the development, update and/or revisions of 30-45 technical documents.
  • Perform 5-10 site visits annually to assist the bases with airfield, grounding and lightning protection electrical issues.
  • Assisting in documenting program files, organizing files and providing administrative support, such as updating and maintaining technical support resources such as 45-60 CE DASH requests annually.
  • Assist with proposal development, as necessary.
