LifeSource is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives through organ, eye and tissue donation in the Upper Midwest. It's our privilege to serve the 7 million people who live in communities across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and portions of western Wisconsin.
We're dedicated to working with our hospital and community partners to support donor families, manage the donation process and educate our communities to create a culture of donation. We're a passionate and committed cross-functional team who believe in our vision that everyone shares the gift of life. Each of our team members plays an integral role in our life-saving work, using their unique talents and contributions to further our mission.
LifeSource is seeking candidates looking for a secondary position with a mission driven organization. Our Surgical Eye Recovery Specialists self-schedule outside of other employment or personal commitments for 12 hour on-call shifts to engage in performing surgical recovery of the cornea or whole globes to ultimately provide the gift of improved sight, within a 2-hour radius of your home location. Performing surgical recoveries requires attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, a steady hand, and fine motor skills to execute trained techniques. Once fully trained, our Surgical Eye Recovery Specialists perform recoveries independently in a hospital or medical examiner space, so your job location is different each recovery, depending on the location of the donor.
