Digital Content Coordinator, Academy Museum 

Description

The Digital Content Coordinator is responsible for the planning, management, and implementation of content for the museum’s digital platforms. This position works with various departments and maintain engaging content, including but not limited to informational copy, photography, video, interactive, and other graphic assets as needed for the website and mobile app. This individual must be organized, with an attention to detail, possessing strong verbal and written communication skills, and be able to work quickly and efficiently, delivering high quality results under fast-paced deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work with a diverse team on time-sensitive projects are integral to this position.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

Project Management

  • Manages the overall development of digital content for the museum’s digital platform, including the website and mobile app;
  • Participates in the ongoing development of the museum’s digital strategy between multiple departments
  • Plans, tracks, and maintains strategies while exploring new and innovative digital initiatives;
  • Improves platform structure and provides solutions for digital projects.

Collaboration

  • Assists with monitoring, maintaining, creating, and improving content for the digital platform by working with multiple departments while being mindful of content accuracy, museum branding, and institutional voice consistency.
  • Collaborate in the development of website and mobile app content.
  • Address inquiries and alerts from the public regarding functions of the website and mobile application.
  • Assists with responding to content updates and requests from departments

Technical Skills

  • Organizes content format and deliver across multiple platforms using the museum’s content management system.
  • Complete testing and quality assurance checks of website and mobile app projects, including the review of design implementation, functionality, and content.
  • Works with website SEO, digital platform analytics, and Salesforce database management to analyze visitor insights and create data-driven strategies for implementation.

 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of professional-level experience, with demonstrated interest in visual arts such as photography, video production, digital media, or equivalent experience working in a creative space;
  • 2-3 years of experience with Contentful, Drupal, WordPress, or similar CMS is required;
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly with Photoshop, Premiere, and After Effects to create multimedia for the digital platforms;
  • Self-motivated with project management skills, including schedule development, tracking, task prioritization, and an ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with project management software such as Air table and JIRA, is ideal.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and a customer service attitude.
  • Exceptional organizational and communications skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to translate technical concepts for a general audience.
