Description

The objective of this task order is to provide weather operations program management services in support of ACC/A3W.

Additional Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited To:

  • Support the Air Force Weather Weapon System (AFWWS) IAW AFPD 10-9, Lead Command Designation and Responsibilities for Weapon Systems, AFI 15-182, Weather Functional Capability Management, and AFI 10-2801, Force Development Concepts.
  • Accomplish expanded workload due to the standup of the 557 WW, perform lead/using command operations duties associated with the AFWWS.
  • Perform OT&E duties for all assigned weather organizations, to include operations research and implementation of revised HAF metrics policy.
  • Increase the realism of LVC-OT environmental simulations and the DMO management process.
  • Develop, transition, and implement weather functional and system concepts IAW AFI 10-2801.
  • Collaborate with other MAJCOMs on weather integration to LVC-OT efforts for AF, Army, Joint and Coalition initiatives.
  • Assist with effectively integrating authoritative weather data, products, and services into the Combat Air Forces (CAF) LVC-OT enterprise to increase the realism of LVC-OT in support of the CAF LVC Roadmap IAW the following directives:
  • Department of Defense (DoD) Directive (DoDD) 5000.59, DoD Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Management, 8 August 2007.
  • DoDI 5000.70, Management of DoD Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Activities, 10 May 2012.
  • AFPD 16-10, Modeling and Simulation, 23 January 2015.
  • Air Force Guidance Memorandum 2016_16-01, Implementation of Authoritative Data Sources for LVC-OT Systems, 21 January 2016.
  • In the future, authoritative weather support to LVC-OT will be codified in AFI 16-1004, LVC-OT Management, and Air Force 15-series weather publications, as applicable.
  • Serve as the weather subject matter expert (SME) to support the CAF LVC Management Working Group.
  • Identify, document, and manage requirements for authoritative weather modeling and simulations (M&S), environmental models, databases, tools and services for support to CAF LVC-OT programs.
  • Coordinate development and integration of weather capabilities and advocate for weather model, database, product, and service priorities for integration into CAF LVC-OT programs.
  • Provide support to improve and optimize the use and exploitation of atmospheric and space environmental representations and their effects in LVC-OT systems, programs, training events, and experiments.
  • Monitor, assess, and collect requirements for Air and Space Natural Environmental (ASNE) weather M&S to CAF LVC-OT exercises, programs, and systems.
  • Facilitate implementation of authoritative ASNE M&S support to tactical and operational-level CAF and Air Force LVC-OT exercises and events.
  • Participate in LVC-OT working groups, conferences, symposiums, workshops and staff assistance visits to CAF installations, as required.
  • Assist with coordination on applicable publications/guidance and development of ACC supplements.
  • Assist ACC/A3W staff members with other OT&E duties, as directed.
  • Assist with proposal development, if necessary.
