About the Organization Our company was incorporated in 1984 within the State of North Carolina, and opened its doors for business in August of 1985. The company has continually grown to a point where we currently serve more than 600 individuals, and employ more than 1000 people across the state.

Skill Creations is a human services agency that operates three service divisions. The ICF Division provides specialized long-term residential care to 191 individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in 15 different towns in North Carolina. The Community Operations Division provides residential and non-residential services to persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in their home community. The Child Development Division, with two locations in Goldsboro, provides high quality child care and preschool for children ages birth - 5 years. One center also offers after school care through age 12.  
Description

The Direct Support Professional - Administrative serves a dual role providing direct support duties in addition to clerical duties Skill Creations, Inc. provides services to individuals living in our residential facilities, who have physical and/or intellectual disabilities and /or medical care needs. Direct support workers provide or assist with activities according to the specific needs of the individuals. This includes personal care (bathing, dressing, hair care, dental care) mealtime and simple household tasks such as laundry, cleaning or bed making. The Direct Support Professional-Administrative serves as the facility receptionist and is responsible for managing the facility front office. Other clerical duties include typing, filing, shopping for groceries/supplies for the facility and arranging substitutes when staff coverage is needed. The DSP-Admin. serves in the On-Call rotation about once per month.

 
Position Requirements
  • 19 years of age or older
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Some clerical experience is preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to drive company vehicles (3 yrs. Driving experience, driving record that meets our insurability standards)
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Working personal phone
  • Dependable transportation
  • Ability to operate office machines: fax, computer, copier
  • Proficiency in computer use for typing, e-mail, electronic paystubs, completion of training modules, electronic medical records
  • Position occasionally requires balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling
  • Ability to work on holidays and during inclement weather
