What you would be doing:

The Quality Assurance Manager is a member of the Management Team and the Quality Assurance Team within the Performance Improvement and Service Delivery department. Working under the supervision of the Director of Quality Assurance and the Vice President of Performance Improvement & Service Delivery, s/he is responsible for managing the organization’s CARF and CQL accreditation program(s) including ongoing training, monitoring, support, and implementation of accreditation standards into new areas. S/he is also responsible for managing the organization’s quality record and service delivery programs. This includes performing, assigning, and monitoring quality reviews and designing and implementing performance improvement programs within service delivery areas of the organization in response to identified areas for improvement. This is a salaried position with hours and schedule established to complete required duties. This is an “administrative” position, as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor and, as such, is “exempt” from wage and hour regulations.

Accreditation

  • With the Director of Quality Assurance, lead the organization’s CARF and CQL Accreditation programs to ensure all standards are being met, including preparing and disseminating all required assessments and annual reports.
  • Train personnel on CARF and CQL standards and support each program or service delivery area in demonstrating how they meet applicable standards.
  • Perform regular Quality Assurance monitoring to ensure standards are being met throughout each applicable program. Implement and monitor internal corrective action plans regarding any areas for improvement identified.
  • With the Director of Quality Assurance, lead survey or audit planning, visits, and any Corrective Action Plans related to accreditation.

Quality Assurance

  • Perform reviews on a representative sample of client records to ensure completeness of records and to ensure documentation meets standards set forth by accrediting bodies.
  • Assign clinical and medical records reviews per accrediting body standards and monitor completion. Use results to guide performance improvement activities.
  • With the Director of Quality Assurance, review, respond to, and take any necessary action required based on reported incidents within the organization.

Performance Improvement

  • In collaboration with the Health Information & Analytics Department, the Customer Engagement & Excellence department, and service delivery departments, play a lead role in the design, implementation and monitoring of performance improvement initiatives within service deliver programs aimed at improving the quality of care delivered, outcomes of care delivered, and customer satisfaction with care delivered as part of various Outcomes-Based or Value Based Payment models.
  • Utilizing data gathered within the organization, (ex. complaints, grievances, incidents, satisfaction, and engagement, record reviews, service utilization data, health and safety inspections, etc.) perform analysis, monitor for trends, and design, implement, and monitor performance improvement initiatives across the organization.

Training

  • Provide training to service delivery staff regarding medical, clinical, and supportive services delivery standards, documentation standards, and record keeping standards in order to ensure the consistent quality of care delivered across the organization. Manage CEUs, CEs, etc. provided as a part of these trainings with the Human Resources department.
  • Provide training to staff regarding use of applicable electronic systems including but not limited to incident report tracking systems or other quality measurement systems utilized by the department.
 
Position Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree in applicable field required/ Master’s degree preferred

Qualifications

  • Current licensure related to services provided by the organization, LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC, RN, PSY required
  • 5 years’ relevant professional work experience required.
  • Experience and understanding working with CARF accredited organizations required (ex. behavioral health, vocational/ employment, long term care/ rehabilitation facilities, etc.).
  • Experience participating in accreditation surveys/ audits required.
  • Experience with electronic records systems required.
  • Experience providing professional trainings/ teaching required.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Excellent communication and presentation/ training skills, both written and verbal required.
  • Experience leading quality assurance or quality improvement activities at an organizational or program level preferred.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities in facilities with multiple levels and without elevator or mechanical transportation.
