Test & Control Engineer Mexico Operations
General Purpose of Position:
Responsible for the design, build, debug and maintenance of the electrical controls and test systems for new and existing equipment in the plant, qualify equipment to industrial electrical standards, provide training and develop and innovate new manufacturing technology.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Understanding of local, divisional and corporate policies and procedures and implement them effectively.
Maintain test equipment performing to an acceptance level.
Quick trouble shoots equipment and perform hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic repair if necessary.
Write, Modify and debug ladder programs for equipment.
Apply problem solving engineering tools (Red X, Green Belt/Six Sigma).
Develop automotive engineering documentation such as PFMEA, PCP, PFD and Operating Job Instructions.
Support continuous improvement activities.
Provides technical support for project teams or plant operations.
Regular contact with others outside the work group.
Participates in Project Teams as phase 3 support engineer.
Accept other job responsibilities as needed.
Design and maintain error prof devices (POKE YOKE)
Skills and Abilities
High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult.
Use of RS logix 500, Studio 5000, Rockwell automation programs and TIA Portal, Step 7 Siemens PLC programming
HMI programming SIEMENS and Allen Bradley
Visual Studio programming.
ABB and/or Stäubli robots programming.
Install and maintain Cognex and/or Keyence vision systems
Oral and written communication skills.
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
Knowledge of tooling and manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of principles of project management.
Leadership skills to coordinate small teams.
Education and/or training
Bachelor's degree in Electro-Mechanical, electronic or Mechatronics.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
Minimum 2-5 years experience working in similar position.
