NC START Therapeutic Coach Team Leader

Position Summary:

The position is responsible for administration and management of NC START Central Therapeutic Coaching Program.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Implements NC START Therapeutic Coaching for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and co-occurring mental illness or behavioral health needs.
  • Ensures NC START Therapeutic Coaching sessions are provided in accordance with fidelity to the START model as described in literature published by the National Center for START Services at the University of New Hampshire Institute on Disability and the Commonwealth of Virginia DBHDS.
  • Reviews staff service documentation for clinical appropriateness and accuracy.
  • Conducts retrospective service review to ensure services provided were in accordance with local, state and federal requirements and with fidelity to the START model.
  • Provides clinical and administrative supervision of NC START Therapeutic Coaches and staff.
  • Coordinates with NC START Clinical Teams on triage and admission/discharge from Therapeutic In-Home Services.
  • Assists in writing treatment plans and implements structured therapeutic interventions for all participants.
  • Coordinates transition planning for individuals utilizing NC START Therapeutic Coaching services.
  • Maintains contact with families and/or providers upon admission to services to ensure satisfaction and monitor quality of service provided.
  • In collaboration with NC START Clinical teams, identifies on-going support and training/treatment needs for families and providers who utilize In-Home Service.
  • Maintains linkages and relationships with community partners.
  • Attends all required meetings with NC START Coordinators, NC START Director, and other NC START staff.
  • Identifies, coordinates and monitors necessary training for Therapeutic Coaches.
  • Responsible for hiring and training of all Therapeutic Coaches.
  • Ensures the collection of required data and documentation of NC START Therapeutic Coaching
  • Writes Discharge Summaries for each individual who received Therapeutic Coaching.
  • Provides clinical and administrative supervision to all Therapeutic Coaching.
  • Plans and manages all Therapeutic Coaching team meetings. .
Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited college/university with a Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or closely related field;
  • Current NC license as an LPC, LCSW, LPA, LCAS, or LMFT or closely related preferred
  • Extensive experience in developmental disabilities, including programming for individuals with significant behavioral health needs
  • Knowledge of the MH/DD/SA system
  • Two or more years supervisory experience in a mental health/developmental disabilities setting preferred
