JOB SUMMARY:

  • The Medical Staff Assistant position is responsible for secretarial, receptionist and assistant duties for the Chief Medical Officer, Director and staff of Medical Staff Services.
  • Facilitates and assists with the OPPE and FPPE (Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation) reports, the CME program, and credentialing processes.
  • Assists with HFAP survey preparation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Medical Staff Assistant position is responsible for secretarial, receptionist and assistant duties for the Chief Medical Officer, Director and staff of Medical Staff Services.
  • Facilitates and assists with the OPPE and FPPE (Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation) reports, reappointment summaries, the CME program, and credentialing processes including affiliation letters, and maintaining credential files.
  • Assists with implementation of Cactus.
  • Assists with HFAP survey preparation.
  • Assists with data review and other duties as assigned.

EXPECTED BEHAVIORS:

  • Evidence of strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates patient's first standards.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Possesses organizational skills of self and work.
  • Demonstrated competence in the use of computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel with PowerPoint and Access being a plus.
  • Basic knowledge in the use of office equipment.
 
Position Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school education.
  • At least one year experience in the medical staff environment.
  • Mandatory Continuing Education: Customer Service, Fire and Safety, Patient Rights and Confidentiality, Infection Control and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
