At Pierce Mortuary Colleges (PMC), we offer online associates, bachelors, and certificate programs. We offer online and on-campus degree programs to help students reach their educational goals. This position reports directly to the PMC Chief Operation Officer. We are now looking to recruit a driven individual with a background in LMS administration, Instructional Design, and Course Development. ROLE AND EXPECTATIONS: The LMS Administrator role is an experienced-level position responsible for configuring, maintaining and overseeing the college’s Learning Management System (LMS) application and environment. Pierce Mortuary Colleges uses Moodle as our application and environment of choice to deliver online instruction for use with distance learning. This role will provide technical support required to maintain and support the Moodle Learning Environment (MLE) ensuring a consistent student and faculty experience. Instructional Designer/Courses Developer (ID/CD) is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of online education across Pierce Mortuary Colleges. In particular, the ID/CD will design and develop online, web-enhanced/online and face to face courses in collaboration with the college presidents and instructors. Additionally, the ID/CD will assist with training staff and faculty in the development and delivery of online courses and programs. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: The LMS Administrator role of this position will provide technical support required to maintain and support the Moodle Learning Environment (MLE) ensuring a consistent student experience. The LMS Administrator will be expected to collaborate with IT and faculty to establish policies, processes and procedures related to the LMS environment. The LMS Administrator will be expected to work with other IT areas and/or third-party services to maintain a secure, highly-available and fault-tolerant LMS environment. In addition, this position will oversee relationships with related vendors and host providers, enforcing support expectations. The LMS Administrator will assist the college with setting and complying with State and Federal policies and recommendations related to distance learning. Serves as technical support for faculty and students. Partner with all campus administrators and Distance Learning Coordinators to support integration of other related applications; Develop and participate in the initiation and completion of projects involving the Moodle LMS environment; Create course shells aligned with course development plans and syllabus including all activities. Archive all courses after completion of quarter. Consult with DL faculty and other campus users of the LMS environment to support the integration and development of new features and customizations for the Moodle LMS application; Communicate maintenance windows and issue resolution to campus community; Respond to inquiries and requests from users for Moodle-related assistance as escalated through the support process; Other duties as assigned. Instructional Designer/ Course Developer role of this position will work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) you will be responsible for designing and building interactive and engaging online resources which will be accessed by a wide range of students studying online degree programs all over the United States. This work will include creating visual content. This is a creative portion of the role you will be encouraged to contribute recommendations for content development and improvements to all areas of the learning technology. Instructional Design – Using research-proven best practices, design courses and course templates for the production of online courses, instructor-guided and instructor-driven online courses. Course Development – Develop online courses, instructor-guided and instructor-driven online courses and course materials in conjunction with SMEs where necessary. Quality Checks – Perform quality checks to ensure new and existing DL courses are in compliance with quality assurance, but not limited to, pedagogy, instructional design, use of technology, distribution, course and content management, and resource deployment. Assessment Plan – Create assessment plans for evaluating programs including Program Outcome Maps, Curriculum Maps, and Institutional Effectiveness Plan. Professional Development and Capacity Building – Provide training and capacity development opportunities for staff and faculty associated with the online programs/courses. Reporting – Produce scheduled progress and summative reports on course development and delivery. Miscellaneous – Perform other related duties as assigned to support and promote online learning at the College. Other duties as assigned. |
