Position Summary

Under supervision, the Payroll and Benefits Administrator oversees the bi-monthly payroll process, benefit administration, assists with compensation and employee classification. This position is 20 hours per week/benefits eligible.

Primary and Essential Responsibilities

1. Oversee bi-monthly payroll process:

  • Responsible for ensuring accurate timekeeping
  • Import and export data to ensure timely and accurate compensation
  • Update and review database entries to ensure the timekeeping and payroll system is accurate
  • Process bi-monthly payroll
  • Work closely with finance for tax reporting & payments, garnishments, liens, and other required payroll deduction remittance and reporting

2. Assist HR team with Benefits Administration

  • Reconcile benefits deductions and billing
  • Communicate with employees about benefit deductions
  • Responsible for updating carrier systems

3. Conduct primary or secondary research on employment law updates related to compensation and classification. Make recommendations to ensure compliance

4. Assist with job description updates and revisions

  • Perform internal and external research & analysis to ensure language and duties reflect job scope
  • Work with HR Manager and Supervisor on description updates, revision or creation to reflect the goals of the work unit and Slilpstream as a whole

5. Assist with compensation administration

  • Assist the HR Manager in performing internal and external research and analysis to solidify Slipstream’s position in market competitive compensation
  • Work with the HR Manager and Supervisor on compensation updates while adhering to the overall philosophy of the organization

6. Prepare reports, letters, e-mails, for management and employees

7. Maintain complete, orderly and efficient files and records

8. Actively participate as a member of assigned workgroups

9. These responsibilities are not all inclusive and other duties may be assigned from time-to-time

Qualifications

  • Associates’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 2 years of work-related experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and preferred knowledge of payroll software/ HRIS

  • Occasionally required to walk or stand, balance, stoop, crouch or crawl and climb stairs
  • Ability to sit for lengthy periods
  • Use hands to handle or feel, reach with arms
  • Use tools or controls
  • Talk or hear, taste or smell
  • Occasionally lift or move 25 lbs.
  • Use close vision, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth, and adjust focus
