We are seeking a Security & Emergency Planning Specialist  to join our team in Washington , DC. The ideal candidate will:

  • Supports COOP and Emergency planning, updates guidance and policies, attends meetings.
  • Supports all aspects of maintaining security including assisting with management of security containers and open secret storage, classified mail, manages personnel access to classified systems (using SAAR forms and JPAS or DISS), monitors use of SIPR computers.
  • Supports SIPR document management and data classification security.
 
Position Requirements

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Senior Enlisted Command experience (e.g. Senior Chief).
  • CDSE Security certifications; COOP training 

  • 10 years experience in Federal security and emergency planning, as well as COOP planning.
  • Experience planning and executing Continuity of Operations (COOP) for large organizations.

  • Experience in providing and managing Operations Security (OPSEC) related training.

  • Knowledge of Personal Identifiable information (PII) related DOD/DoN/NAVSEA rules, regulations, practices, directives and instructions, and a minimum of 5 years work experience of managing PII compliance.
  • Strong proficiency in speaking and writing in English.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Candidate must possess an active Secret security clearance prior to being considered.

 

Preferred Education, Skills and Experience:

  • 5 years directly related work experience of DoD/DoN/NAVSEA Continuity of Operations Planning (COOP) and Emergency Management planning plans, processes, policies, rule & regulations, and development and implementation of COOP plans and practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge & work experience in implementing and managing security practices in complaisance with DOD/DoN/NAVSEA security rules, regulations, practices, directives and instruction (including security containers, Open SECRET Storage Space, SIPRnet reading room, handling classified materials, personnel security requirements Security Classification Guides (SCGs) and all industrial and Information Security (INFOSEC).
