The Columbia Group (TCG), a technical services support company which has a successful 50+ year history of providing direct support to NAVSEA, Military Sealift Command, the US Marine Corps, US Coast Guard, and other maritime clients with acquisition, logistics management, engineering, design, fabrication, test and evaluation, information technology and financial management support services is seeking a NAVSEA Risk / Safety Support Analyst.

The mission of Program Manager, Ships PMS 317 is to design, build, outfit, and test the Landing Platform Docking (LPD) amphibious ships (to include Flight I and Flight II ships), and to provide for maintenance support. With 11 LPD 17 Flight I ships delivered, two in construction and planned future procurement of 13 LPD 17 Flight II ships, the main focus of PMS 317 activities includes ship acquisition, technical/system integration, ship production, test, outfitting, GFE/GFI management, and post-delivery.

The Columbia Group, Inc. (TCG) is fulfilling the Navy's need for configuration management and data management in support of PMS 515. The person in this position will be part of a large team working under the direction of the prime contractor in their offices on M Street and potentially in the Washington Navy Yard, and will directly support PMS 317 customers in one of the most important and exciting programs in the Navy.

This person completes the following activities:

  • Provides support with basic program documentation tools and disciplines understood.
    • Experience working with MIL-S-882 risk assessments and program risk, issue, and opportunity tracking and reporting.
    • Experience with database management and reporting.
  • Provides system and program safety support to the WESERB and System Safety technical community.
    • Experience with system safety evaluations and resolution tracking.
  • Implements Configuration Management (CM) by Establishing and maintaining the integrity of work products using configuration identification, configuration control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits.
  • Creates, maintains, follows, and enforces CM policies and processes. Leverages GOTS and COTS CM tools to manage configuration items.
  • Collaborates with government and contractor personnel to develop technical documentation in accordance with TI-specific documentation requirements.
 
Position Requirements

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Required: HS Diploma or GED
    • Preferred: Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in a business or technical field
  • Required: 7+ years of relevant experience.
    • Preferred: 7+ years relevant experience in engineering/science management, operations research analysis or financial/cost analysis. Significant experience in U.S. Navy programs or operations.
