Summary/Objective:

The Sanitation Team Lead is responsible for leading the efficient operation of the Sanitation department. Coordinates daily sanitation department activities to meet Department strategies/objectives. Promotes continuous improvement philosophies to meet or exceed internal, regulatory and customer expectations. Supports the development, implementation, and compliance of site sanitation, policies, and procedures. Adheres to and assists with training and implementation of all procedure and policies.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides day to day support and guidance to all assigned personnel.
  • Understands and ensures team compliance with current GMPs, safe work habits, plant dress codes, hygiene standards and housekeeping requirements.
  • Ensures overall sanitation of the facility.
  • Provides outside grounds removal of large debris when landscaping is not on premises.
  • Provides outside grounds removal of all trash/debris from receptacles/lawns/shrubs and parking lots.
  • Adjusts and maintains daily sanitation schedules for each specific work area.
  • Coordinates, Change coordinate to Enforce the master cleaning schedule.
  • Organizes, plans, prioritizes and assigns work assignments.
  • Performs and assists with all cleaning duties as necessary as well as trash and recyclables and Special Waste
  • Establishes, implements and trains operational standards and procedures in department (SOPs).
  • Inspects all work performed to ensure all specifications and established GMP standards are met.
  • Assists with or performs sanitation inspections.
  • Inventory control for the department
  • Follows and enforce the compliance requirement for the Chemical Master List.

  • Required Competencies For This Role: Organizational Sensitivity GMP/SOPs/ Safety Continuous Improvement Coaching/Mentoring, Communication Decision Making Professional Knowledge, Leading Work Teams Problem Solving, Safety and Health Compliance Teamwork Managing Conflict

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5-7 years of sanitation experience.
  • 1-2 years’ professional leadership experience.
  • Prior food manufacturing/pharmaceutical/hospital environment experience.
  • Knowledge of GMP standards and their applications.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish. Ability to read, write and speak English.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Professional sanitation certification.
