RMS is looking to add a full-time, Service Trucker/Tech Assistant to keep up with our growing service business. Live RMS True North while traveling onsite to deliver rolls to the customer site. This position is as much customer service as it is a technical service. The requirements: Class A CDL, mechanical ability, discipline to follow existing plant-wide systems, problem solve in the field and at home base, soft skills, and the ability to travel by land or air in the US and internationally as the customer demands. Customer experience is vital to RMS, while onsite you are to unload the product. We are not just there to deliver rolls; we are there to provide professional solutions for any customer needs. Always be looking to improve the safety, quality, delivery, and cost of our services to the customer. Typical schedule is M-F, with you being home on the weekends. This position will be hauling long to medium lengths of freight directly to our customers throughout the country. Other responsibilities: - Performs daily inspection for safety on tractor-trailer up to DOT standards
- In accordance with all applicable laws operates a tractor trailer combination with trailers ranging from 48 feet to 53 feet in length.
- Maintains E Logs and IFTA Reports
- Loading and unloading equipment and/or supplies by hand or with other machinery
- Ensures all necessary paperwork is distributed to destination and copies returned to shipping coordinator
- Maintenance and service of semi trail and truck
- Train to perform inspections or light maintenance on roller mills
- Requires above average customer relations skills
- Other duties as assigned to assist the team
