Description

Crisis Response Relief - Overnight, Day, Evening and Weekend Shifts

The Crisis Worker Provides telephone and mobile community response to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. This position will provide support to individuals experiencing a psychosocial crisis in our Crisis Bed Program and support our partnerships with York Regional Police, York Region Paramedics (The Regional Municipality of York), Kinark Child and Family Services, and Behavioral Support Services as a referral source.

 
Position Requirements
  • B.S.W. or equivalent education
  • Minimum three years related experience
  • Knowledge and practice of short-term urgent response, psychosocial rehabilitation approach and advanced clinical, crisis and assessment skills are assets.
  • Experience working with individuals having a serious mental illness is essential.
  • Crisis skills for adults and children experiencing a mental health crisis are desirable.
  • Completion of CPI, CPR and ASSIST training as per agency guidelines.
  • Experience and knowledge of the criminal justice system is an asset
  • Knowledge of the local service system is essential
  • Francophone or second language is considered an asset
  • A valid G driver’s license, appropriate insurance for business purposes, and reliable vehicle are required for this position
  • The successful applicant will be required to provide a police clearance that meets agency standards
