Description

Eagle Harbor Solutions (EHS) is looking for a Database Specialist for our location in Washington DC or St. Louis, MO. The Specialist will support EHS and our government client.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist define and vet a Data Protection Policy that seamlessly integrates with the data governance framework
  • Make recommendations about establishing policies for Data Masking (in the case of Personally Identifiable Information - PII), Data Sharing, and Data Protection
  • Define a taxonomy of sensitive data elements, including but not limited to, customer contact information, employee contact information, social security numbers, background investigation, loan/grant documents, etc
  • Develop and maintain the Enterprise Logical Data Model(s) (LDM(s)
  • Manage the enterprise terms to include identifying all required metadata and authoritative sources
  • Provides all activities related to the administration of computerized databases.
  • Projects long-range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function.
  • Designs, creates, and maintains databases in a client/server environment.
  • Conducts quality control and auditing of databases in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data.
  • Advises users on access to various client/server databases.
  • Designs, implements, and maintains complex databases with respect to JCL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
  • Applies knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end (e.g., Tableau)/back-end programming languages (e.g., SQL). Performs database programming and supports systems design.
  • Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, file design and storage, and integration of systems through database design.
 
Position Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ Years experience
  • Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments.
  • Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.
  • Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems. Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
