Nurse - Registered or Licensed Practical 

Description

We are seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct nursing services, mental health assessments and treatment to consumers with severe and persistent mental illness in our 24/7 crisis stabilization center .

  • Provide medical case management as needed by assisting clients with psychological, rehabilitation and social development.
  • Engage individuals and families as partners in services and develop positive, hopeful, and trusting relationships.
  • Manage the emotional distress experienced by client in avoiding and resolving crisis situations.
  • Help others succeed by demonstrating the ability to work with persons with severe mental illness and/or serious emotional disturbance.
  • Demonstrate the ability to react effectively in a wide variety of human service situations.
  • Effectively manage conflict, promote change, growth and inspire the development of all clients served.
  • Complete all required documentation thoroughly, on time and according to agency standards.
  • Recognize and demonstrate sensitivity to cultural and ethnic differences.
  • Regularly travel and transport clients and/or families in and around the region, and provide direct care and support.
  • Build relationships with clients, their support team and strategic partnerships, internal and external.
  • Provide medically necessary direct care and support in a residential environment, as directed.
  • Assist clients by providing structured and constructive activities that support the client’s treatment.
  • Assist clients with learning and practicing daily living and social skills.
  • Provide services on an individual basis or in a group setting, as required.
 
Position Requirements
  • Licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of Kansas, in good standing, with the Board of Nursing of the State of Kansas.
  • 1-3 years’ experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness.
  • Possess theoretical and working knowledge of psychotropic medications.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory test results.
  • Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with individuals.
  • Demonstrated good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Communicate directly and effectively in a cooperative manner..
  • Relates a positive approach to complex mental health issues.
 
Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time  
Shift Weekends  
Hours Monday - Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm  
Pay Range Hourly based on experience  
Division RSI
