The Richmond Behavioral Health Authority has a full-time position available for a Case Manager Aide/Child Services Technician to perform basic human support work assisting in providing daily activities and services to clients and their children.

Job Duties:

  • Assists case managers, clinicians and other staff in providing daily activities and services to clients and their children
  • Provides child minding services within child services center, treatment centers, or in community as deemed necessary
  • Observes childrens behavior and reports issues to supervisor and/or case managers
  • Conducts groups and activities that are age-appropriate to children whose custodian is in treatment, residential and/or outpatient
  • Provides additional services to support the centers functions as scheduled
  • Provides up-to-date information on community resources as needed
  • Completes regular documentation as directed
  • Performs related work to support clients attendance in services as necessary
  • Assists in providing or locating transportation for clients to and from appointments, grocery shopping, etc.
  • Assists clients with the completion of various forms for other benefits as required.
  • Attends all relevant meetings.
 
Position Requirements

General knowledge of issues facing persons that are diagnosed with substance use disorders and /or co-occurring mental health disorders; general knowledge of the needs of infants, toddlers and children with the ability to recognize changes in behavior, emotions and development; ability to provide nurturing and build upon skill-level of children; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to conduct interviews with clients and children to obtain information; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and associates.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one year experience in structured children’s services
  • One year’s experience working with individuals diagnosed with substance use disorder and/or co-occurring mental health disorder

Special Requirements

  • Valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Infant and Child CPR certification
  • Standard First Aid required
  • Qualifying Case Management Aide staff will be eligible for a $1K sign-on bonus as defined by the terms and conditions of the approved sign-on bonus policy.

Starting Salary Range 17.92 hr
