Summary/Objective
The Human Resources Payroll Coordinator is a part-time exempt position that reports to the HR Manager, Compensation & Benefits. This position compiles and records employee time, enters payroll data, works with managers to ensure accuracy of the information and researches discrepancies, and runs reports for HR management. This position works with onboarding staff to review data entry of new staff into the payroll system, verifies the information to make certain data entered correctly, and oversees the maintenance of employee records.

Duties & Responsibilities
Assists in administration of compensation program; supervises all payroll processing and related activities ensuring accuracy; solve problems concerning payroll, answers inquiries, and enforces payroll policies; assists in development of overall payroll procedures by recommending improvements or changes when deemed necessary for greater efficiency; prepares all payroll statements and reports; conducts audits of various payroll, and other HR programs and recommends any corrective action.

  • Maintains Human Resource Information System (HRIS) records and compiles reports from database as needed; Scans and electronically files all personnel records.
  • Provides a review of new files entered into the payroll system for accuracy.
  • Prepare and review payroll tasks
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
  • Helps to maintain company organization charts and employee directory, including monthly reports of new hires, terminations & promotions/demotions/transfers.
  • Assist in attendance management, chart updates, and run reports if needed for FMLA and OSHA
  • Assist with the garnishment process
  • Delivers legendary customer service by answering employee requests and questions on time.
  • Assists HR Management with various research projects and special projects.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Knowledge & Skills
Requires knowledge of principles and practices of human resources and prior experience with an HRIS system. Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.

Education & Experience

  • A high school diploma is required, and an associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office software is required.
  • One year of HR/payroll experience is required, and one to two years of experience with ADP payroll system is preferred.
  • Three to five years of general clerical experience is required.
  • Must have very strong customer service skills and verbal/written communication skills.
