Receiver/Fork Putaway (Sunday-Thursday)

This is a full-time hourly position. Work schedule is typically Sunday-Thursday, 7am-3:30pm* (*End time varies and OT may be required depending on the day’s schedule.) Reports to Day Shipping Management.

The successful candidate is a self-starter, works well in a team atmosphere, and is able to work in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility and ability to transition between multiple tasks with attention to detail is a must. Able to read, understand, and make clear notations on receiving documents. Should also possess good computer/keyboard skills. Must be able to pass certification for operation of all warehouse powered equipment.

Able to lift up to 50lbs+ on regular basis.

Mission: Rotate, receive, and put away product with the goal of setting up the warehouse to maximize shipping efficiency and success.


Responsibilities include:

  • Follows all receiving procedures as outlined in annual and periodic training.

  • Rotates stock following FIFO (First-In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out) policy.

  • Reports any damaged product, quality issues, or expiration issues found in warehouse.

  • Practices good housekeeping and keeps working area organized (disposes of wrap/shipping material; removes excess pallets/sorts good from bad; cleans up spills immediately; etc). .

  • Monitors receiving schedule and helps coordinate the flow of trucks into and out of bays, as needed. Maintains professional, courteous manner with truckers.

  • Completes receiving logs, matches product and shipping documents against PO’s.

  • Applies receiving labels and multi-pallet tags as required.

  • Checks products for quality during receiving.

  • Communicates quality issues and/or material discrepancies with buyers and/or manager ASAP.

  • Helps with inventory spot checks for quality reasons or quantity issues.

  • Helps coordinates vendor returns and product disposals.

  • Assists with milk crate staging and return to vendors.


  • Follows all warehouse and food safety policies and procedures.

  • Participates in annual physical inventory as required.

  • Assists shipping department picking, wrapping, loading orders when needed.

  • Other duties as assigned



  • Works in cooler, freezer, and dry grocery environment with temps ranging from 60° to -10°.

  • Operates and works around Powered Industrial Trucks (Forklift, ride-on pallet jack, hi-rise picker).

  • Lifting, bending, squatting, reaching on a regular basis.
