Position Boomerangs Donation Processor  
Full-Time/Part-Time Part-Time  

Boomerangs, a family of thrift stores operated by the AIDS Action Committee, is seeking a reliable and flexible individual to join our Donation Processing Center Team in Dedham, MA. Under the supervision of the Warehouse Manager, the Donation Processor is responsible for receiving, sorting, and processing donations and preparing them for delivery to retail locations for sale.This is a part-time position, working 15-20 hours per week.

**Our Donation Processing Center is located a short walk from the Endicott and Dedham Corp MBTA Commuter Rail Stations**


  1. Assist with the receiving and initial categorization of donated goods.
  2. Examine and conduct final quality inspection of donated goods using selection criteria and places into appropriate containers for sale or for salvage.
  3. Hang garments as necessary to achieve daily/weekly goals.
  4. Assist with cleaning tasks to maintain an neat, safe work environment
  5. Be familiar with and follow store policies and procedures, including loss prevention procedures
  6. Meet agency participatory expectations
  • Adhere to all agency and departmental policies and procedures
  • Participate in quality assessment and improvement activities as requested
  • Adhere to the highest principles of confidentiality
  • Adhere to established safety policies, procedures and precautions; enforce agency’s policies including safety and crisis procedures.
  • Attend all required meetings, in-services and professional trainings

Position Requirements
  • Knowledge of current trends in fashion, and ability to recognize designer items strongly preferred
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and work in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work on a team and take direction from management
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality required
  • Flexible availability including occasional holidays and weekends preferred
  • Basic knowledge of HIV/AIDS and sensitivity to issues surrounding the HIV/AIDS epidemic

  • Ability to meet the following physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations:
    • Ability to stand, lift, bend, and be mobile for an entire shift
    • Ability to lift 20-40 lbs
    • Ability to distinguish colors
