THE POSITION
All dentists are hired as employees of CSVS and the positions are compensated as indicated in the current salary table consistent with the years of experience.
The CSVS Dentist has a wide knowledge of methods and principles of dentistry and skill in its applications. He/she is familiar with modern methods of diagnosing and treating dental disease. The Dentist is able to analyze situations accurately, maintain patient confidentiality, and to contribute to a positive work environment. He/she has a working knowledge of the practices of public health and dentistry and a willingness to comply with all related dental laws and regulations.
CSVS MEDICAL/DENTAL CLINICS
Clinica de Salud del Valle de Salinas (CSVS) operates ten Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) clinics, with most clinics offering both medical and dental services CSVS is currently expanding the number of clinics providing care, with additional clinics now open in Salinas, CA and another in Gonzales, CA.
The dental clinic staff provides care to the underserved of the Salinas Valley in Monterey County. Dentists provide care and take call as scheduled. CSVS is accredited by the Joint Commission and seeks candidates who have demonstrated the ability to provide and continually improve the quality and responsiveness of its service. The clinic staff recognizes, respects, and understands the rich diversity, which is an integral part of the health care environment in Monterey County. It is the responsibility of each employee to contribute to the development and implementation of practices, procedures and patient care that guarantees the delivery of quality, timely, and courteous service.
THE COMMUNITY
Monterey County is a multi-cultural and diverse society set in a picturesque coastal location. It boasts such world-renowned attractions as the spectacular Big Sur Coast, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Cannery Row, and Pebble Beach. The Salinas Valley is endowed with miles of thriving vineyards and has been referred to as the “salad bowl of the nation.” Educational Opportunities are available by several modern faculties, including two community colleges, the California State University Monterey Bay, and other undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate level institutions.
SIGNIFICANT DUTIES
Clinical Services
- Provides direct patient care.
- Examines patients, provides diagnoses of their illnesses, and prescribes and administers dental treatment.
- Refers patients to Dental specialists and medical providers as appropriate and follows patients’ progress at referral facilities.
- May perform procedures as qualified by training and specialty.
- Writes prescriptions and prepares case histories, reports and related correspondence. Assists in the development of standard clinical and patient service procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduate from an Accredited Dental School.
Work Experience: At least one year experience in community health care
environment preferred.
Licensing: Successful completion of the California State Board
Examination, sponsored by the Board of Dental Examiners
Consumer Affairs Department for the State of California
DEA Certificate
CPR Certificate
Language Requirements: Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
