Electrical Engineer

As an electrical engineer on the Power Systems Engineering team, you will develop, validate, and enhance various power electronics to enable fleet-scale implementation of heavy duty electric vehicles. You will be responsible for circuit topology selection, components selection, circuit board layout, control algorithm development, prototyping, testing and validation of power electronics products. Your work will carry you from product start to finish – working on ground-up products, development of new products, and implementation of your products at scale in a fleet environment.


  • Selection of components for use in charging applications
  • Design and analyze analog circuitry, digital signals, PWMs and GPIO
  • Design power stages including estimation of losses and efficiency
  • Design and Analyze High Frequency Magnetics
  • Circuit topology selection and board layout
  • Contribute to development of control algorithms
  • Prototype and test
  • Handson hardware bring-up and debugging
  • Identify system level fault conditions, analyze failure modes, provide fault management strategies, and implement fault protection mechanism
  • Trace bugs to their source, wherever in the system that may end up being
  • Design test criteria and systems for validation of components and systems
  • Perform evaluations of alternative components, providing hard data in the form of plots and tables to allow for quantitative decisions leading to product improvements


  • Handson lab experience using measurement equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers
  • Experience implementing safety critical, high reliability, or fault tolerant systems
  • Solid background in power electronics components and topologies
  • Industrial design/debugging/validation experience with inverter, charger, AC/DC or DC/DC converters both isolated & nonisolated
  • Familiar with Wide Band Gap Devices SiC, GaN, MOSFETs & IGBTs
  • Hands on experience for power electronics hardware development working in High Voltage & High power environment.
  • Experience in PCB design, using schematic capture and layout tools
  • Modeling and control expertise for power converters
  • Experience in EMI test and mitigation
  • Strong electrical engineering, analog circuits, and power electronics fundamentals
  • BS / MS in Electrical Engineering or similar degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good understanding of design for manufacturing, quality control and FMEA
  • UL testing experience
  • Experience with HIL Testing
  • Knowledge of environmental, reliability requirement for automotive, industrial and residential applications
  • Gridconnected inverter experience
  • Large volume product development experience
