Eagle Harbor has an opening for an experience, detail-oriented Business Analyst/Product Owner with effective communication skills. Ideal candidate will be highly motivated and eager to take initiative to seek our stakeholders, identify problems to be solved, and help remove barriers to success. This position will be located in Washington, DC 2-3 days a week and remote on the other days.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Elicit and clearly document business and systems requirements
  • Assess business process and system inefficiencies
  • Translate business requirements and product initiatives into epics and user stories.
  • Build and maintain a product backlog and produce a prioritized list of clear and concise user stories together with acceptance criteria.
  • Work closely with the Agile teams during the refinement and implementation of the product backlog, providing input, advice and clarifications as needed.
  • Ensure that Agile teams have a clear understanding of what they are developing and the technical and business value it delivers for our customers.
  • Understand and negotiate needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders
  • Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes and new responsibilities
  • Produce required analysis documentation (business requirements, scope matrix, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals, UAT plan)
  • Collaborate closely with developers to implement the requirements, provide necessary guidance to testers during QA process Serving as the technical and functional expert to help resolve problem reports, assist with change requests, and business processes.
Position Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • US Citizen and must complete National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Background check
  • 5+ years dedicated experience as an IT Business Analyst or Product Owner
  • Solid understanding of the Agile development methodology
  • Proven experience in requirements elicitation, analysis, specification, and validation.
  • Strong relationship building and facilitation skills to communicate with stakeholders on all levels of the organization regarding product progress
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills
  • Extensive Problem-Solving experience
  • Strong leadership, teamwork and client management experience
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as working with a team.

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
