Quality Engineer (Advanced Group) 

Description

Interior Systems

  • Coordinate the preparation and on-time delivery of Launch APQP / PPAP deliverables.
  • Assist in developing the DFMEA and/or PFMEA
  • Develop the Prototype, Pre-Production and Production Control Plans
  • Develop the gaging strategy required to meet GD&T requirements and assist gage engineers in the procurement of the gages per customer standards/requirements
  • Create and validate gage OWI
  • Develop the Measurement System Analysis Plan for the program
  • Develop the Manufacturing Quality Systems for the Prototype and Pre-Production builds (e.g., Operation Instructions, Incoming Inspection Instructions, Containment Instructions, etc.) and document requirements in the Control Plan
  • Ensure that critical part requirements are incorporated in tooling and equipment RFQs
  • Ensure dimensional verification: Identify the parts required to be built, deliver those parts to metrology, and ensure dimensional data is properly gathered in accordance with the Engineering requirements and product drawings. Compile the data into useful inspection reports, and develop root causes and corrective actions with the development team
 
Position Requirements

REQUIRED

  • Knowledge of or experience in light assembly and plastic injection molding, preferably in the automotive industry
  • Must demonstrate solid skills in communication, interpersonal relations, ability to work well in several teams at once, and ability to inspire individuals to improve performance.

PREFERRED

  • ASQC/CQM/CQE certification
  • Specific education / training and applied experience in Quality disciplines is preferred. Including: IATF16949, Continuous Improvement, Total Quality Management, AIAG Advanced Quality Planning, PPAP, D/PFMEAs, Control Plans, DOEs, MSA/gaging/fixturing, GD&T, Dimensional layouts, Manufacturing Quality Systems and SPC.
  • Understanding of PPAP procedures/requirements, APQP
  • Understanding of coordinate measuring equipment for dimensional verification
  • 2+ years industrial/manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge and application of statistics & SPC
  • Knowledge of vehicle interior parts and assemblies, and related part constructions and/or designs
 
Education Requirement Associates Degree - Bachelors Degree PREFERRED; 3 or more years of post-degree Quality Engineering experience (Preferred)
