Utah Recreation Company is seeking friendly and hard-working individuals to be MAINTENANCE WORKERS for our 2020 season! This is an exciting opportunity to work in the hospitality field while spending time outdoors and assisting campers. Our recruiting and onboarding process involves email and online communications. All new hires will report to our Pleasant Grove office on their first day of work for an orientation meeting. We have started accepting applications for positions open in spring through fall 2020! We will start interviewing for these positions in late 2019 and early 2020. ABOUT THE POSITION: Classification: Seasonal FT Location: Evanston/Mountain View Ranger District Campgrounds in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest Site Provided for Position: Depending on location Wage: $12.00/hr Schedule: Variable hours based on location needs ABOUT YOU: - Own a well-maintained RV suitable to stay in for the season (picture submission required as part of interview process). Note: not all maintenance positions will offer a campsite.
- Minimum of high school education
- 3+ years’ experience in related position
- Knowledge of operating and maintaining heavy equipment
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and welding
- Managerial experience preferred
- Strong decision-making and customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to give direction and problem-solve
- Must possess a valid driver license with a clean 3-year history and no DUI convictions in the past 10 years (all new hires will be asked to provide a DMV printout)
- Able to work outdoors in varying weather and conditions
- Ability to either stay on site in a well-maintained personal RV or camper or ability to commute to your site each day
- Reliable transportation
JOB DUTIES: - General maintenance and repairs across your district
- Oversee maintenance on all campgrounds in your district
- Provide maintenance support to all camp hosts in your district
- Participate in National Forest service inspections and complete tasks associated with inspections
- Hazard removal
- Water system start-up, maintenance, and monthly testing
- Be a willing member of Utah Recreation Company/Basecamp Hospitality, performing all duties and functions as assigned to the best of your ability
- Always perform the job in a safe manner and follow the company Injury and Illness Prevention Program
