Supplier Quality & Development Engineer 

Description
  • Perform quality and capability assessments for potential suppliers including reporting, follow-up and closure of audit findings and non-conformances
  • Provide technical expertise to suppliers in various manufacturing processes: plastic injection molding, stamping, and assembly
  • Lead, implement, track, and follow APQP process
  • Ensure that supplier’s documentation and processes are compliant with requirements during pre-production, production, and service phase (life of product)
  • Evaluate supplier PPAP submissions and coordinate Plant PPAP Approvals, ensuring requirement compliance and accuracy
  • Lead cross-functional supplier meetings/reviews as needed to ensure Inteva and customer requirements are met
  • Guide suppliers to develop quality strategies to improve quality system implementation, utilizing continuous improvement and problem solving techniques
  • Perform supplier process audits, Run@ Rate verification, control plan audits, PFMEA reviews, special processes evaluations (CQI), and early production containment
  • Lead and coordinate Supplier Change Request, supporting Engineering Changes related to suppliers
  • Willing to travel globally and sometimes within short notice
 
Position Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years experience in automotive supplier quality/development
  • Previous experience working with Suppliers that provide interiors components: example – injection molded components, plastic assemblies (cup holders, air vents etc.), chrome parts, rolled good materials, and stampings
  • Operations/Manufacturing processes technical expertise – plastic injection molding, stampings and assembly
  • Knowledge of core quality tools (APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and PPAP)
  • Demonstrated experience in performing Supplier Process Audits, Run@Rate verification, PFMEA reviews, Control Plan audits, Special Processes evaluations (CQI), and Early Production Containment
  • Knowledge of IATF, VDA, and ISO based quality systems, with Auditor accreditation for systems and processes
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills, with proficiency in English language, oral and written, and preferably in other language(s) used in geographic area of responsibility
  • Motivated self-starter willing to lead and learn who works well in a team environment
 
Education Requirement Bachelors Degree in Engineering required. Advanced degree preferred.
