Job Description:

The Bloorview Research Insitute at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital invites applications for a Research Systems Administrator.

Working in the Research Operations Office, with an exceptional team of Research Administrators, the Research Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting a variety of online platforms designed to advance research in pedatric rehabilitation at Holland Bloorview including our centralized recruitment platform, connect2research and eREB platform. In addition, the administrator will oversee the use of various external research related system infrastructre (i.e. REDCap, Sync.com, Zoom, etc.).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the day to day operations of BRI's internal electronic platforms and online resources
  • Enable use of all external research systems related infrastructure to support BRI research teams to manage, collect and share data through external platforms (i.e. Zoom, Sync.)
  • Provide administrative support for REDCap to internal and external researchers and research staff and internal Holland Bloorview staff and clinicians
  • Manage sensitive and confidential data within the internal platforms and ensure quality, integrity and security
  • Manage and respond to request, queries, and troubleshoot problems or concerns from primary user groups
  • Run reports for all internal platforms
  • Develop, track and maintain education material for all user groups
  • Maintain working relationship with platform user groups (PIs, Study Teams and Clinicians, Health Data Records, Clients & Families, Research Operations staff)
  • Track and monitor effectiveness, usability and functionality of the platforms and coordinate the preparation and dissemination of various statistical reports including: workload measurement and volume statistics for all internal systems
  • Support and/or participate in quality improvement activities regarding user satisfaction
  • Responsible for taking on and supervising interns and co-op students

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Health or Social Sciences
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in an academic an/or clinical research environment is essential
  • Information technology experience/backgroun is an asset
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a professional and confident manner, ensuring effective and postitive interactions with scientists, staff, trainees, and hospital partners
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work with and support collaborative efforts internally and across departments
  • Demonstrated ability to work effeciently by prioritizing tasks, working to deadlines and maintaining performance under pressure
  • Ability to give close attention to detail and take responsibility for completing tasks
  • Demonstrate evidence of self-motivation, resourcefulness, and resilience
  • Significantly skilled with MS Office products: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
