Description

Phoenix Alternatives Inc. (PAI), one of the Twin Cities' leading providers of day services for developmentally disabled adults, seeks a strategic, inspirational, and detail-oriented manager to lead the Human Resources function for our 100+ employee organization.

Have a seat at the table and take your career to the next level as our Human Resources (HR) Manager. As an HR professional, you will provide leadership in all 'people aspects' of the company, partnering with Senior Management to shape and direct company strategies.

Make a difference by guiding and managing the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs. Utilize your expertise and competencies to lead all HR activities and manage the HR department and your HR team.

Specifically, your responsibilities will include:

  • As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, participate in developing and implementing strategic and tactical objectives, goals and plans.
  • Develop human resources strategies and budgets.
  • Lead employee recruitment efforts.
  • Guide employee satisfaction and retention initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other managers regarding employee and performance management issues.
  • Develop and implement compensation and benefit plans.
  • Manage new-hire orientation and onboarding as well as the development of Human Resources handbooks, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure employment practices and personnel files meet all federal and state requirements.
  • Manage employee development programs; maintain the learning management system.
  • Support managers in planning and delivering performance management content.
  • Administer and track employee leaves of absence.
  • Oversee workers' compensation and unemployment compensation programs and claims, and OSHA reporting.

 
Position Requirements

Required Attributes and Skills

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field.
  • At least five years of relevant human resources experience; social services experience a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state labor laws and requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with a high sense of urgency.
  • Supportive, inclusive leadership style; a “roll up your sleeves” orientation.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Impeccable ethics and integrity.
  • Satisfy Department of Human Services background study requirements.
