PREREQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or Equivalent 2+ years offshore related welding experience 3+ years previous experience in a Welder role on 6th generation semi submersible drilling rig considered an asset Red Seal Welder Certificate CWB Certified Certified High Pressure Pipe Welder, Including exotic Metal Able to weld any type of equipment utilizing multiple weldering techniques with a sound work ethic and attention to detail; Able to operate software applications as applicable to position, conversant with technical drawings and literature Must pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background/Pre-Employment Screening Checks. Offshore training considered an asset Basic Survival Training H2S Alive Fall Protection Confined Space Entry WHMIS 2015 First Aid Regulatory Awareness Gas Tester Rigging Slinging & Banksman CAPP Medical   Position Requirements RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform welding, flame cutting and associated tasks as required Ensure that the permit to work and energy isolation procedures are strictly adhered to at all times including fire watch requirements Ensure an accurate oxygen and acetylene bottle count is submitted daily to offshore management Ensure al welding activities are carried out in accordance with Company policies, class requirements and regulatory laws and regulations Ensure an accurate inventory of consumables is maintained in order to facilitate all repair work, modifications and general fabrication Coordinate welding tasks with supervisor and other department heads to meet operational requirements Inspect welded joints for visible formation, weld penetration and conformance specifications Perform daily inspections and maintenance on welding equipment Ensure oxygen and acetylene bottle are stored as per company policy and procedure Perform daily inspections and maintenance on welding equipment Assist with duties other than welding as required Ensure that approved rig operating procedures are adhered to at all times. Report all unsafe activities, situations, and potential hazards to supervisor Actively participate in weekly rig and departmental safety meetings Actively participate in the Safety Management Systems Ensure housekeeping is maintained in assigned areas Perform all emergency duties as per designation on the station bill. Effectively use all safety and environmental tools Complete training requirements in a timely manner as per agreed training matrix.
