Description

Koniag Technology Solutions is seeking a Security Specialist with a TS/SCI to work with our client in Vienna, VA.

KTS is looking for a highly qualified, experienced and self-motivated individual to perform the duties of a Security Specialist. The Security Specialist utilize skills and experience to perform project tasks. Ensure security requirements associated with the government are met. Coordinates and works with internal and external organizations for solutions for new and developing security programs. Employs risk management practices in supporting security goals and objectives.

Security Specialist Tasks:

  • The ability to deal effectively with others and possess a willingness to nurture an overall level of confidence and cooperation within the TSC.
  • Oral and written communications skills consistent with the level of security assignments to conduct interviews, security briefings, discuss analysis and opinion in a concise, logical and objective manner, and prepare written communications settings forth analyses and recommendations.
  • The ability to analyze various types of materials, including investigative reports, to develop information regarding security vulnerabilities as it would apply to approval or denial of facility or information system access granted by senior security management.
  • The knowledge of commonly applied security principles, concepts, and methodologies in carrying out assignments and developing skills by performing limited independent work.
  • The knowledge of administrative regulations and sanctions that apply to violations or non-compliance with security regulations.
  • The ability to develop interrelationships between various subject matter areas of the Security Program to determine if additional security concerns have developed or the scope of the investigation should be expanded
 
Position Requirements

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated skill and comfort in proactively building relationships.
  • Innovative thinker, with a track record for translating and executing strategic plans.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of management.
  • College degree preferred; however, two (2) years of experience will be required for each year of college that are not completed in lieu of not having a degree.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of related USG security office experience
  • TS/SCI with CI Poly

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
