Position Title: Research Assistant

Status: Casual (no guaranteed hours up to 200 hours total)

Start Date: October 28th, 2019

End Date: February 28th, 2020

Lab: Prism Lab

Supervisor: Tom Chau

Program: BRI

Salary: Grade 4 ($26.01 - $31.09)

Job Description:

This is a casual contract starting October 28th, 2019 and ending February 28th, 2020.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment of research participants
  • Following rigorous physiological data collection protocols with minimal supervision
  • Performing data collection
  • Management/processing of research data
  • Tracking progress of each participant throughout trials
  • Occasionally assisting in data analysis
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree (BA/BSc) in a health-related field required
  • Experience with electroencephalography (EEG) quantitative and qualitative data collection and management is an asset
  • Excellent organization, time management and priority setting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills
  • Strong ability to pay meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to follow protocol/instructions
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to function independently
  • Ability to problem solve creatively
  • Familiarity with research ethics applications and post-approval management
