Share Email Opening Title Payroll Tax Specialist  EOE Statement Ascentis is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.   Description The Payroll Tax Specialist is responsible for engaging with clients who recently purchased the Ascentis Payroll product for the current year. In this role, you will need to possess a strong understanding of Payroll Wage and Tax law by state and local entity, as well as, multi-state tax such as Reciprocity and Nexus. As part of the Professional Services team, you can expect to deliver unsurpassed client support by exemplifying our cultural norms. Cultural Norms: What are the general responsibilities of the position? As a Payroll Tax Specialist, you will work with clients to extract the Quarter-to-date wages, deductions and taxes by employees that will need to be loaded into the Ascentis system for accurate W-2 production. You will engage with clients and consult with them on issues they may have with their current data they are extracting or issues with how they filed prior quarterly returns. Additional core expectations include: Portfolio – You can expect to carry 20 to 40 clients per quarter – in some cases multiple FEIN’s per client. Clients will range in both size and complexity. Throughput – You will manage the throughput of the projects you participate on to either meet or exceed delivery on implementation milestones as established in the client’s project timeline. The QTD totals for each client need to be balanced, corrected and loaded prior to the client processing their first payroll in Ascentis. There are fast moving deadlines associated with this role. Quality – You will strive to deliver the highest quality client experience as measured by client feedback and surveys. Impact/Innovation – Ascentis highly values impact and innovation. You will actively participate in the collaboration and development of processes and innovation within the Professional Services team and Ascentis at large.   Position Requirements What are we looking for in a candidate? Bachelor’s Degree required 5+ years of experience in payroll and payroll taxes, CPP preferred Strong logical, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to give persuasive advice and guidance to clients, leading them down a path to the best possible outcomes. Strong technical aptitude with above average excel skills and the ability to manipulate a variety of data formats. Enthusiasm and flexibility to thrive in aa fast-paced and ever-changing work environment. Strong and adaptive communication skills enabling you to work with and develop strong relationships with variety of client personalities and learning styles. Ability to function within a defined process, while still having the capacity to see the big picture and step outside the box where appropriate.
