Share Email Opening Title Quality Inspector (ATSO)  Astronics Subsidiary Astronics Test Systems   Location Orlando, FL   Description General Summary The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of configuration management and supplier quality. This position requires extensive experience in mechanical, electronic and electrical inspection. This position will be responsible for ensuring the hardware meets all approved requirements as outlined in the released engineering and subsequent national standard specifications (J-STD-001, IPC-620, IPC-610, Mil-Specs, etc.) an will also be responsible for witnessing test of hardware and ensuring all documentation related to the hardware is completed accurately with in-tolerance data at time of test. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Read Engineering drawing and specifications. Inspect components, subassemblies, and assemblies. Monitor operations to ensure that they meet production standards. Recommend adjustments to the assembly or production process. Inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced. Measure products with rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers etc. Accept or reject finished items. Remove all products and materials that fail to meet specifications. Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products. Report inspection and test data. Examine materials from suppliers before sending them to production line. Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality regulations and standards and disseminates to others. Prepare and submit metrics and reports to the quality manager. Document and maintain lessons learned database. Perform First Article Inspections to AS9102.   Position Requirements Qualifications Experience with hardware acceptance and qualification testing is a must. Experience using calipers, scales, micrometers, Faro Scan Arm and height gages. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions is required. Knowledge of Aerospace and Defense standard Quality specifications. Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering drawings, product specifications, test procedures, MIL standards and requirements. IPC620, IPC-610 and J-STD-001 certifications desired. Moderate computer skills are necessary. Costpoint experience and proficiency desired. Training in AS9100D QMS requirements. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Education/Experience Technical and/or High School Degree; Further qualifications will be a plus. Relevant previous experience. Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
