The GSE Mechanic position involves ground support of equipment and the upkeep of building maintenance. Duties shall include but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles and ground support equipment (GSE)
  • Perform diagnostic checks of vehicles and equipment
  • Coordinate with part suppliers or manufactures regarding pricing and estimate time of shipment (ETS)
  • Coordinate with support agencies for building maintenance, work orders, and supplies
  • Perform escort duties for non-airport support personnel
  • Conduct vehicle and equipment fueling operation, and coordinate fuel delivery
  • Perform vehicle and equipment modification in support of A&P mechanics
  • Assist A&P mechanics when needed
  • Coordinate hazardous waste pickup
  • Regular attendance during regularly scheduled business hours
  • Subject to in-person supervision during working hours
  • In-person interaction with co-workers and supervisors
  • Perform other incidental duties as may by assigned by the Tooling/GSE Supervisor

Position Requirements


  • Aviation experience preferred, but not required
  • Microsoft computer skills
  • Organizational, multi-tasking, and good communication skills
  • Automotive engine maintenance, light welding and/or calibrated tooling experience
  • Valid state issued drivers’ license with clear MVR with no major moving violations within the past 3 years


  • High School Diploma or GED


  • Stand – 50%
  • Walk – 40%
  • Sit – 10%
  • Lift: Must be able to lift up to 80lbs.


  • Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable technology
  • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Ability to complete routine forms, use existing form letters and/or conduct routine oral communication
