What you'll do: - Serve as a Snowmazium Storyteller and Program Presenter for visitors in Zoomazium during Wildlights!
- Provide WildLights event information to guests
- Oversee and provide activities and scheduled programs in Snowmazium
- Facilitate "snowball" battles
- Provide nightly scheduled storytelling utilizing props, drama and A/V system
- Provide assistance to Interpretive Engagements staff, Events staff and volunteers
- Assist in set up and closure of Zoomazium nightly including reporting statistics
When we’ll need you: - We are looking for multiple, part-time program presenters to support Wildlights which starts November 21, 2019 and runs through January 4, 2020.
- Wildlights runs 7 days a week with the exception of Dec 2, 3, 9, 10, 24 and 25
- Training and orientation begin Nov 21 and 24, 2019
- Shifts will be scheduled from 4:45 p.m. - 9:15 pm
Who we're looking for: - Customer service oriented iteam-players who are excited to create a fun, warm and welcoming environment for all zoo visitors this holiday season.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. - 1+ years of combined education and experience in early childhood, natural science or environmental education
- Experience presenting thematically based interpretive programs or classes to audiences of all age levels
- Customer Service experience
- Ability to present creative, mission-driven programming
- Must possess general knowledge of zoology, ecology and conservation
- Ability to work a non-standard/flexible schedule, which may include weekends, evenings and holidays
- Ability to handle education program animals and to become a WPZ-certified animal presenter (requirement in specific positions)
