Email Opening Title ONS - Research Intern  Location Princeton, NJ   Department Optical Networking and Sensing  Description NEC Labs in Princeton, NJ seeks a fiber optic distributed sensor intern with a strong fiber optics, mathematics and signal processing background to work in the Optical Networking and Sensing group. The intern will help develop, verify and implement the algorithms to generate and process the sensor output signals and obtain the desired measurements. He/she will also help analyze and demonstrate the robustness of the algorithms.   Position Requirements • PhD candidate in one of the following areas: Electrical Engineering or Physics involving in fiber optic sensors or optical measurements • Knowledge in fiber optic distributed sensors and their configurations • Knowledge in mathematical algorithms such as convolution, correlation and transform • Knowledge in digital signal processing • Hand-on experience in fiber optic experiments • Ability to plan and schedule daily research activities in order to meet the established timetables and objectives • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Preferred: • Research experience in fiber optic distributed sensors • Experience in using Matlab   This position is currently not accepting applications.
