Share Email Opening Title Case Manager - Outreach Specialist - Youth  Description Wyandot BHN is seeking a dedicated Outreach Specialist to join our team! The Outreach Specialist provides community based outreach services to children and families experiencing mental illness to increase access to trauma informed services. The Outreach Specialist will connect families to resources that identify and engage children and families who might “slip through the cracks” for services. Essential Job Duties: Respond to direct referrals from community partners in law enforcement, domestic violence and homeless shelters, hospitals and emergency departments and other service organizations. Provide parents and caregivers with the skills and tools needed to support their child(ren) who have experienced trauma and guide them in their role as a part of the healing and recovery process. Deliver follow-up services at pre-scheduled intervals based on the assessment and the needs of the family. Provide trauma informed care trainings “Inspiring Resilience” to Wyandotte County service providers and build/maintain strong relationships while offering support and education in trauma-informed care. Build strong relationships with existing partners and identify new community partners. Triage crisis events experienced by children and families and refer to necessary MH services. Attend community outreach and education events in Wyandotte County to reach vulnerable and underserved children and families.   Position Requirements Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or education plus equivalent experience in the human services field, with emphasis preferably in social work, psychology, rehabilitation or related field. Proof of current Driver’s License (non-suspended & non expired), automobile insurance and clean driving record required. Proficient in use of technology, including Microsoft Office.
