Schedule Monday-Friday, flexible schedule, 29 hours or less between the hours of 8:00 am-5:00 pm. Hours may vary based on operational needs.  
Pay Rate $10.10-$11.00/hr.  
Description

SUMMARY
The Administrative Assistant provides clerical and reception support for the administrative and program staff of Venues Parks & Arts, including greeting the general public, directing visitors to appropriate personnel, answering and directing telephone calls, taking registrations or renewals for facility rentals, organized activities, ticket sales, and or passes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This list represents the types of duties required by the position. Other duties may be assigned as reasonably expected.
• Greets and refers clients and/or visitors to appropriate staff.
• Answers main telephone system, takes messages and directs incoming calls.
• Transcribes and types all correspondence for designated personnel.
• Assists with entering all registration and renewal data.
• Makes inquires, edits and updates files in computer.
• Responsible for receiving departmental supplies and distribution of them to staff.
• Assists staff with special projects and activities as requested.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• High School Diploma, or equivalent education required.
• Requires one year experience in clerical/receptionist/administrative position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED
• A Good knowledge of computer operations.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs a must.
• Knowledge of RecTrac software a plus.
• Experience with the operation of standard office machines.
• Possess necessary skills to answer telephones and greet public courteously and in friendly manner.
• Ability to communicate in Spanish a plus.
• Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Must have good working knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, spelling, style, etc.
• Knowledge of efficient office procedures.

• None.

EQUIPMENT
Desktop or laptop computer, telephone, calculator, copy and fax machine.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk and use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required in this job include; vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in an office setting, with moderate inside temperatures and some work is performed outside. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate in the office and moderately loud in the field. The Entire office and park is smoke-free.
