Duties and Responsibilities

The ServiceNow Specialist is responsible for assuring the stability and performance of the ServiceNow platform. This person is primarily responsible for system maintenance, upgrades, user management, fulfillment of administrative tasks, and performing upkeep of existing solutions.

The ServiceNow Specialist will help RealFoundations transform the way that our clients leverage technology. This person is responsible for improving the delivery of IT services for our clients by developing custom IT Service Management (ITSM) solutions on the ServiceNow platform. The SN Specialist will have a knowledge of ServiceNow application development, as well JavaScript knowledge and an understanding of ITIL and systems integration. This person will be a strong team player with strong consultative skills and should thrive on problem solving and achieving results. At the same time, the SN Specialist will be self-motivated, capable of managing projects from requirement gathering to final implementation with minimal guidance. This person will work closely with a team, consisting of client users, support teams, SDMs, etc, to create custom solutions on the ServiceNow platform. They will also be responsible for simplifying these solutions by leveraging existing functionality in the "out of the box” platform or other internally developed applications for implementations and upgrades for our clients. Some specific responsibilities include:

  • Design, develop and test solutions on ServiceNow platform
  • Collaborate with business analysts and other developers to identify ways to simplify user experience
  • Participate in ongoing planning and review related to active projects and tasks and report to senior leadership
  • Collaborate with business analysts to clarify requirements and create test cases

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to the ServiceNow user base – 50 internal techs, 50 client techs, 10000+ end users, 30+ clients
  • Responsible for process-oriented development of ServiceNow applications and interfaces from concept drafting, requirements gathering (both customer and internal), solution design, development, UAT, implementation, to qualified documentation
  • Assist the process for reviewing and improving policies and procedures to support an ITSM/ITIL framework (desired future state, ServiceNow capabilities, etc.)
  • Responsible for managing rollout of new ServiceNow modules, features, and functionality
  • Lead and implement the design and configuration of new solutions in ServiceNow
  • Perform upkeep on existing solutions (e.g. business rules, UI policies, client scripts, ACLs, workflows, dashboard & reporting, data imports, service catalog development, etc)
  • General database design: business rules, client scripts, server scripts, scheduled jobs, UI policies, ACLs, reporting, forms & lists, events, notifications
  • Specific modules: ITSM, Service Desk Call, SLA, Asset Management, Change Management, Collaborate/Chat Support, Project + Portfolio Management, Performance Analytics, Service Portal
  • Monitor and optimize the health, usage, and overall compliance of the ServiceNow platform
  • Coordinate & execute platform upgrades & maintenance, update set management, system clone
  • Advise teams on design, development and overall best practice configuration of ServiceNow
  • Document/Maintain functional business requirements, process flow diagrams, and business use cases
  • Work with ServiceNow sales team to preview, evaluate, and implement the latest capabilities of ServiceNow’s products
  • Interface with clients at all levels both via SDMs and directly, to communicate system functionality / business process, provide support, and discussions surrounding root cause analysis after outage events
  • Responsible for training internal and Client users on daily usage of ServiceNow
  • Responsible for working with and training offshore team members

Position Requirements
  • 3+ years ServiceNow Administration, ServiceNow Certified System Administrator
  • 1+ year ServiceNow development/configuration experience
  • Proficiency in JavaScript to comfortably read, modify, and write both client and server side scripts
  • Experience with database design principles and procedures, particularly table/field schema, database relationships, business rules, Access Control Lists
  • Understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies, but more important is a strong ability to adapt to varying hybrids on a project-to-project/client-to-client basis
  • Comfortable interacting with clients on a daily basis and providing status updates
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in a Domain Separated ServiceNow environment
  • Experience implementing new modules into a ServiceNow environment
  • AngularJS
  • Domain admin type system administration experience (o365 or similar)
  • Experience deploying a ServiceNow environment
