What are we looking for in a Planning & Budgeting Manager?

The Planning & Budgeting Manager for Comprehensive is responsible for overseeing the budget process and providing fiscal analysis at both the program and agency levels. This position manages the annual agency-wide budget process, performs periodic budget reviews with teams, develops individual program budgets, and supports other grant & contract opportunities by preparing budget exhibits as needed. The Planning & Budgeting Manager also serves as the primary support person for Great Plains Management Reporter application and is responsible for developing & maintaining financial reports and managing accounts. The Planning & Budgeting Manager works closely with our Chief Financial Officer to recommend process improvements. This position requires strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail, frequent coordination with management staff, and the ability to solve problems creatively.

Planning & Budgeting Manager duties may include:

  • managing the budget process agency-wide and developing team budgets
  • reviewing & reporting on individual team financials
  • updating and reviewing the cost allocation process and recommending updates to the indirect cost rates
  • presenting education regarding budget & fiscal processes to agency committees and providing training to individuals or teams as requested
  • maintaining allocation accounts and updating internal process documents
  • serving as primary on the Great Plains Management Reporter application and developing or updating reports as needed
  • reviewing labor cost allocations and keeping updated in Great Plains
  • providing support and backup to the grant invoicing process
  • assisting with cost-based fee schedule development as needed
  • developing & proposing new cost centers and creating new accounts in GP
  • proposing reclassifications & adjustments of journal entries as needed

 
Position Requirements

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and two years of relevant experience.
