We are seeking mission focused professionals to serve as a full time Intervention Specialist working in School Navigation for our Lima Behavioral Health Division. Responsible for comprehensive clinical service provisions for clients, as well as promoting family stability within a framework of strength based and culturally sensitive services through out Allen, Auglaize and Hardin counties.

As the Intervention Specialist you would,

  • Will provide consultations to students and staff in local schools, preschools and daycares.
  • Address mental health concerns through education groups, individual and classroom consultations and interventions, team meetings, brief crisis management.
  • Referrals for community services are provided to youth, family and staff as needed.
  • Complete referral reviews and intake assignments. Communicate service availability to all assigned clients promptly.
  • Provide instruction, intervention and assistance as deemed necessary through the exercise of independent judgment and knowledge or as part of the treatment team to preserve the family unit.
  • Coordinate with county agency as appropriate, family sessions to promote successful clinical interventions.
  • Collaborate service provisions with school officials, courts and other appropriate parties involved with the client according to policy, regulations and best practice standards.
  • Attend hearings as assessed, assist client and families with community linkages. Provide after care services as required by contract.
  • Provide services to the youth with mental health diagnosis; promote daily living skills that impact delivery of mental health services which focus on self-sufficiency through specific outcomes, such as obtaining housing, job education or vocational training, counseling and community networking; providing outpatient mental health case management services.
  • Complete assessments as required by state rules, agency policies, and/or contract requirements, which may include psychosocial assessments, Diagnostic Assessment Forms, and Family Functioning assessments, Mental
  • Health Scales. Complete required Outcome Measure reports.
  • Prepare Individualized Treatment Plan (IAP, ISP etc.), DAF’s, and Mental Health Individualized Services Plans according to established time frames involving all appropriate parties as required by policy and regulations of the state.
  • Establish mutually respectful rapport and implements interventions necessary to meet needs of client/collaterals; appropriately sets limits and maintains helping role as a Mental Health practitioner.
  • Assist the division for additional clinical services as designated by the Treatment Director and may conduct trainings to client, families and staff/intern clinical consultations.
Position Requirements

What your bring to this role,

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of social work, counseling, psychology, or other license-eligible related
    field of human services.
  • Licensure: OH – LSW or LPC
  • Undergraduate Degree from an Accredited College or University required in the field of family development or other relevant human services program that is equivalent to the field of study in dealing with family issues.
