About the Organization Hill Country Mental Health and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Centers is a unit of local government and a not-for-profit, 501C provider of Mental Health and Intellectual Developmental Disabilities, Substance Abuse, and Veteran Peer Services throughout the greater Texas Hill Country Region. Hill Country MHDD Centers is designated to be the Mental Health Authority by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and the Intellectual and Developmental Disability Authority by the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) for a 19 County Service Area including: Bandera, Blanco, Comal, Edwards, Gillespie, Hays, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Kinney, Llano, Mason, Medina, Menard, Real, Schleicher, Sutton, Uvalde and Val Verde Counties. With a Mission of Promoting Independence, Community Integration and Recovery, HCMHDD Centers operates (10) ten Mental Health Clinics, (8) Developmental Disability Centers and serving a population of over 630,349 consumers within 22,593 square miles.

Job Title: Community Inclusion Coordinator

Looking to make a difference? Hill Country Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Centers has an immediate opening for a qualified Community Inclusion Coordinator in New Braunfels, TX!

Position Summary: The Community Inclusion Coordinator will be responsible for the oversight of all training, certification, advocacy, and outreach/ inclusion activities related to the “People Empowering People” grant, funded in partnership with the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities (TCDD). This grant is intended to focus on supporting adults with IDD in Comal County, to include students who are transitioning from Comal and New Braunfels Independent School Districts, to become more empowered and educated regarding opportunities and available resources.

Position Requirements

Academic Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/ GED (Required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Management or related field is (Preferred)

Work / Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience supporting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities with advocacy, service delivery, training and coordinating activities experience that promote community integration.
  • Knowledge of the Texas IDD service delivery system in the Comal County/New Braunfels area (Preferred)
  • Training in Person-Centered Thinking, Trauma Informed Care, Plan Facilitation, Self-advocacy and Benefits Assistance (Preferred)


  • Valid Texas Driver's License
  • Current Automobile Insurance
