Location HDT (Geneva, OH)  
Description

The primary function of this position is utilizing proper assembly and brazing techniques on complex and varied HDT units such as SDHD and Specials with limited instruction. Work is done independently or under minimal supervision. Ability to work thru problem solving as needed. Able to offer input in the design for manufacturability.

Primary and Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follows visual and written work instructions, as well as drawing package in order to complete assigned tasks within set time allotted
  • Able to build and troubleshoot prototypes and one-off designs independently
  • Able to independently lay out plumbing runs and mark up drawing with proper bend radius if required
  • Ability to think through field serviceability of the unit
  • Accurately reports shop floor production data via computer terminal and/or written reporting
  • Adheres to takt time standards
  • Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Adheres to all quality and safety standards
  • Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned

Experience/Education:

  • Minimum 5 yrs mechanical assembly or equivalent experience
  • High School diploma or GED preferred. In lieu of diploma, relevant work experience demonstrating the required job skills and abilities needed to successfully perform the job.

Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be able to speak, read and understand English
  • Ability to work from verbal and written instructions
  • Ideal candidate would have experience in HVAC
  • Proficient in mathematics
  • Meets AWS C3-4M/C3-4:2007 certification or passes HDT brazing certification
  • Operation of small power tools, other hand tools and computerized and high-pressure equipment
  • Goal oriented and team focused to ensure completion of projects in a timely manner

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

  • Performs all work in accordance with safety and workmanship and good housekeeping specifications
  • Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs., occasional lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, work overhead with arms, and sit or stand for several hours at a time
  • Eye/hand coordination required, with steady and agile hands to operate equipment and tools
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as required per plant rules
